The girl behind the 'Sonia' print

The girl behind the 'Sonia' print

Perhaps because the second half of 2025 was absorbed by finding and moving house - I failed to write about the fabric design 'Sonia' and how it came to life through working with Haines Collection.

To celebrate their 5th anniversary, the sustainable fabric champions - Haines Collection, commissioned ten designers to create a unique print in their colour palette of red, pink and blue. I was thrilled to work with Haines on this, as a big fan of Jules Haines (above) and everything she is doing to raise awareness of sustainability in the interiors industry.

When I learned about the colour palette for the project I instantly remembered a favourite painting - 'Finish Woman' by Sonia Delaunay, 1908. The bold and spontaneous floral background became the starting point for my new print and it's original colourway 'Paris'.

Camellia and Magnolia flowers had been on my mind as the commission began in May. I love these bold sculptural blooms and felt an impulse to design something impactful and large scale. Sonia came to life and launched at Decorex International in the autumn of 2025, as part of the Haines Collection sustainability stage.

In the spring of 2026 I added to the Sonia collection, with a wide width wallpaper and a new colourway for the Sonia linen fabric - 'coffee'. With a rich chocolatey background, this deep new colourway offers a really striking focal point for upholstery and curtains. We have cushions available too.

You can view the Sonia collection here.
