"Since my first art school 'manifesto' in 2012 I have talked passionately about the craft behind the print and felt strongly that creating new items for the world should be done so consciously. Fast forward to 2025 and the impact of design on its surroundings has only become more pertinent."

The show hosted at Chelsea Harbour design centre is such a friendly and well curated event, it was great to be part of such a host of beautiful brands. 

The five of us (pictured) have co-created makersmade.com to shine a light on handmade homewares in the UK and the artists behind them. We are dedicated to telling the stories of member makers and showcasing their work authentically.

My ancestors miniature paintings are held in some of the UK's major museums. But of course I never met them and have only snippets of stories to begin to understand their lives. This is a short tale of two great grandmothers and an inheritance of creativity.
