What began as a few artists connecting to support each other in mutual challenges, quickly grew into a large WhatsApp group of over 100 UK makers. The resounding message was clear; for small studios making work by hand it can often feel hard to be heard and to sustain the expenses of making things slowly.

But imagine a world without art?! Or a home without anything handmade…

The five of us have co-created makersmade.com to shine a light on handmade homewares in the UK and the artists behind them. We are dedicated to telling the stories of member makers and showcasing their work authentically.

MAKERS MADE is a directory - a place to find artisans and link straight to their websites. This means you can shop or commission very maker directly, finding unique homewares more easily and making real connections.

As founders we don’t take any cut and have built this voluntarily in hope of collectively raising the profile of independent artists in the UK and the skills behind handmade work.

We have exciting future plans and hope to add new makers to the site soon too. We hope you’ll enjoy following along and getting to know some of the UK’s best makers!
