Talking to a friend recently, the idea of 'Saturn returns' came up. I laughed, I love a bit of myth and folklore but I take horoscopes with a pinch of salt. But over the next few weeks I realised something. I had been noticing a pattern in my journey as artist.

My 'Sonia' pattern is a homage to inspiring women, from Jules Haines who commissioned it, to Sonia Delaunay herself and the mysterious girl in the painting that inspired the print.

The two most significant inspirations in my work are nature and the history of decorative design. So it felt important to honour these in the way my prints are produced.
